~ Hot Topics ~

bullet  One of the founding members of the Plantation Saddle Club, Debi LeGette, passed away on August 24, 2009 after a tough battle with a rare cancer called Sarcoma. The Dash for Deb - Debi LeGette Memorial Race is being run on February 7 at Auburn University. We are attaching the sponsorship form for any PASC members who want to donate to help the Sarcoma Foundation of America in its efforts to eliminate pain and suffering due to sarcoma. You can email them at info@curesaracoma.org. Click here for the sponsorship form:

bullet  We have a new fax number for your entries - 954-343-9805

bullet  New during our 2009-2010 circuit: We are offering the nationally recognized Marshall & Sterling classes. Click here for more information.

bullet  We will be collecting toys and horse items for Fidelis Foundation, which helps at-risk kids by teaching them to ride and care for horses. Please donate.

bullet  Use our new entry form for all entries. Please ensure that you fill in all the requested information. If you're entering a class that is based on rider's or horse's age, please fill in a birthdate on the form.

bullet  We have a Trainer's Form. All trainer's please fill it out and fax it with your entries. Several trainer's have requested a form like this to make it easier for your riders who are sharing horses and/or tack stalls. It will avoid a lot of problems when your riders close out their accounts. Thanks! For a copy, click Trainer's Form.

bullet  To check out the list of Volunteer opportunities, click List of Volunteer Opportunities . Don't forget you must volunteer five hours to be eligible for year end awards.

bullet  The cutoff day for pre-entries is Tuesday at 5 p.m. before the show.

bullet  Do you have too many PASC ribbons gathering dust at home? Don't throw them away. Drop them off at the show.

~ Office Changes and Important Show Information ~

bullet Adds & Scratches - please remember that you can add a class at any time (at post-entry fee), but scratches must be completed in the office at least 2 classes before the class you are scratching (performance ring) or before the division in which the class is included (hunter ring). If you do not scratch the class in time, you will be charged for the class.

bullet Entry Forms - We want your wait at the office to be as short as possible, so our office staff has some suggestions to help your visit run more smoothly. Please be sure your entry forms are filled out completely – including full names, birthdates, coggins information, stall and shaving information, all classes you are entering, and your back number if you're reusing it.

bullet Back Numbers - Please use the correct back number! If you are using a back number from a previous show, you must include it on your entry form. If you go into the ring with the wrong back number, your points will not count and you may be charged an additional fee.

bullet Pre-entry Priority - On Saturday mornings, from 7 a.m. to 8 a.m. one office person will be dedicated to expediting the check-in process for pre-entered exhibitors. Only properly pre-entered entries may take advantage of the Pre-Entry Priority.

bullet Splitting Stalls - The office will split horse and tack stalls for exhibitors and trainers, but only if the exact details of all splits are written out on your stall request form prior to the show.

bullet Trainers - We strongly recommend that trainers bring one check to hold all of the entries for their farms. Numbers will be given to trainers and all details can be organized through the trainer. Trainers can then come to the office at the end of the show and verify that all students have checked out and no money is still owed. Remember, trainers will get tickets for the "trainer raffle" only for each properly completed pre-entry the trainer sends in.
